Sarah Beals of Rock n Reconstruct has been doing the upcycling thing for over 20 years & I’ve been reworking denim, all kinds of clothing & outerwear since I was in high school.. which was a long time ago! ha!
The two of us together are a force to be reckoned with when it comes to repurposing, reinventing & recycling previously loved garments, linens and unique textiles. We see the potential in just about everything & want to teach you the joy of upcycling. Bringing your favorite fashion pieces back to life & feeling confident to tackle new projects in the future. We want to keep textile waste to a minimum & encourage the art of sewing.

Our Intro to Sewing series is a beginner-friendly, hands-on class designed for people who want to get comfortable using their sewing machine and start creating with confidence.
This class is ideal for beginners, returning sewists who need a refresher, or anyone who has a sewing machine at home and wants to actually use it.
Intermediate Sewing
Refine your skills. Expand your techniques.
Create pieces that feel like you.
Our Intermediate Sewing series is designed for those who know the basics and are ready to build on them.
You’ll work with new fabrics, follow more complex patterns, and learn cleaner finishes, better construction, and simple customization skills.
This class is perfect for sewists who are comfortable with a machine and ready to level up.

"This isn’t your typical sewing class. It’s full of giggles and intimate enough to get personalized attention every step of the way. I learned SEW much during my 6-week class. From making an apron and pot holders to an adorable wrap dress and beyond, you learn a little bit of everything from this class. But it’s not just about what you learn; it’s more about who is teaching it. Chelsea is the best! She encouraged us to try new things outside of what she was presenting. One woman in my class brought in her favorite old tee with a hole in it. Chelsea taught her how to patch it. While the class was structured, Chelsea wasn’t rigid. She’s very go-with-the-flow and happy to make tweaks or give advice with side projects.
I learned so much and loved it so much that I signed up for an additional 6-week class with her. It was one-on-one and an absolute dream. I brought in project ideas, and together we developed concepts. She’s extremely talented in many ways, including pattern-making. It was mesmerizing to watch her design patterns based on my needs. Patterns that, if I treat them properly, I can have forever. To me, that’s invaluable.
